new track, full practice session (first time to use all 8 laps since s79, r7). still guess work. planning a two stop on mediums with stints 17-17-16. boosting in each one. guessed on fuel being around .8/km also went with -50/+50 for wing splits based on seeing other team members practice laps. goal for this season is retention and move money up to about $50m by season end. i will also need to do some testing along the way as my CCP are abysmal at this point. will most likely do a testing stint before the next race.

another bout of testing. this has really jumpstarted my driver’s stamina. started at 0 for race five. now at 51. i was sorely disappointed when i Q’d to see i’m 16+s behind the leader this early in Q’s. that’s a WHOLE lotta seconds. goal is a top 20 finish. running a one stopper on 20CT and am wondering if i made a wrong choice. maybe the weight of the fuel load is too much and i should have opted for a two stopper on mediums for speed. GOOD NEWS, the set up was perfect (i did do one practice lap to confirm).

i had retention locked up in the last race. i was in 6th place (3pts) going into lap 46. no more pits, just a race to the finish. then my driver had a mistake and i dropped to 11th. i worked back to 9th, but spent the last three laps with failed overtakes. that could be my season right there. BUT i have a plan and i’m not going to change. this race will be a 30CT (VERY low driver energy). i opted to boost driver motivation this race and am leaning heavily on the final race to get the points i need (i’ll need at least two to retain). it would be great if we had well over half the field with Technicals this race and i somehow get the retention points, but i’m not counting on it. there is a likelihood i’ll be back to 0% on energy after this race. i’m hoping to have about 60% at the start and should use about 50% over the course of the race. everything hinges on these last two races.

my CCP have been sliding bad. i couldn’t really afford to test much last season and i’m in a worse predicament this season. with the new driver i can’t afford avoiding it. i’ll have to do some testing — which looks to be a bit cheaper than the last two seasons. i’m way back on the grid, new driver at the end of last season that needs quite a bit of training. let’s see if i can get him decent while keeping in the positive with my funds.
