    downgraded brakes just to make it through this race. did another testing session – this time with hairpins. next race i’ll have to get some parts. not expecting another win, but it sure would be nice to still land on the podium. overall, my car character only went from 79/84/81 to 79/82/81 with the downgrade of the brakes.

    i’d like a good enough race to put my finances back in the black enough for training and then parts (which will then put it back negative). finances will be fine by the end of the season, but rough for the next couple of races. good finishes would be very helpful. new driver – still figuring out what he can and can’t do.

    ok, let’s start this long journey backk to Pro. with the final season in Master going so horribly wrong financially, i lost most of my facilities and was put into a tailspin with driver, money, and car parts. two seasons later i’m sitting in AM with low everything. goal this season is to retain and start building some money. i’ll probably be here in AM for another 5 or 6 seasons just rebuilding money and facilities before making a push with a driver to be found later.

    replaced a few parts and debated what to do with my engine. opted to push it up to a 6 knowing i can downgrade it to a five and even a four later this season if needed. while i have plenty for retention, i’d like to finish in 5th place this season for the monies. if my calculations are accurate, that would put me at the $50m mark at the end of the season (with all bonuses). then next season i hope to jump to $75-$80m.

    for this race, i’m switching tyres 0/0 if the weather changes. too many curves and a long enough track that going around 1 time in either side of a change would be too long. the longer pit will still be faster than the added lap.

    starting on wet tyres and planning for a long first stint before the rain stops. if it’s a messy race, i’ll opt to stay on dry the rest of the way. going with a dry setup. hoping for a good result – or at least not lose any motivation in the process. parts will last. will need to train in spa next time as my energy is nearly depleted, but need to push until this driver is gone. good finishes mean good money and i need to pad the account as much as possible between here and the end of the season. that’ll be difficult while trying to keep my sponsors (two are not happy).
