my driver likes wet tracks and my pits have been consistently under 17s. hoping for a very good race and good dollars. i have enough points for retention, but can’t lighten up on getting big dollars (if possible) in races since i only have this driver through race 12 and after that i’ll have to go with a lower driver which means a LOT less money.

running tight on chassis, but should still make it through without a technical. must have seriously messed up my first Q. qualifying lap was barely faster than my practice even though i changed from Medium tyres (practice) to extra soft (qualifying). i need my driver to have a stellar performance and i also need it to rain all race long after it starts. going with a 75% wet setup. i need a top 10 finish and it looks like i’ll be starting around 24th. not good.

bid on five different TDs and came up empty. i hate the early season TD market. reminds me of trying to find a driver in AM. so i waited until the last minute to do testing because i was hoping to get a TD. since that didn’t happen, and my CCP dwindling rapidly, i went ahead and tested anyway. put it all on Acceleration. while my driver is nearly the top in the group (4th), my car is on the bottom half and very little money to start the season. i’m hoping for a finish in the top 12, but i don’t really expect it this race. i am expecting higher overall temperatures this season and went with Yokos to save money. i only have my driver until race 11 and will have to get a new one for race 12. so it’s important i have a very good first part of the season if i’m to survive while training a new driver. if it doesn’t look promising, i’ll find an AM driver to finish the season and plan on relegating. but that’s only if things go completely bad. my preference would be to stay in Pro, get a new driver and train with a plan to push in s83 or 84. time will tell.

smoking race. REALLY STRUGGLED to decide how to approach this race. my driver is good in the rain with doubly good rain tyres (BY), but to upgrade or even level parts to make it through this race i would have been about -$8m in the hole and i would have risked relegating due to funds. or downgrade parts to get through and that would have helped monetarily, BUT put me at a disadvantage to start the season. in the long run, i opted to make the best i could of the situation, get the most money i can and then smoke out. will probably have to go with Yokos or Dunnos next season. unsure until i see what (if anything) changes on tyre characteristics.

money is still super tight and i’d like some good finishes to help. downgraded a couple of parts until next race. brakes will most likely go at the end of the race. doing TWO boosts in the first stint while i’m running a higher CT in the rain. put in enough fuel to run about 22 laps knowing the rain should end around lap 16 or 17. i just want to make sure i can get all the way to the weather change without a pit. opted for medium tyres – which should be a one-stop strategy on the dry. my fingers are crossed for a good finish even with a weaker car.

i would love for their to be a LOT of rain, but i’m not counting on it. prediction is 4 laps of rain at the start. enough to justify a dry tyre at the start? my driver is very good in the rain so i’m opting to start with rain tyres and pit quickly. i’d love a finish in the top 15. but i expect lower. let me please be surprised this race. 🙂

horrible Q’s. i need better finishes. better finishes consistently. landing in the mid-20s is going to cause me to relegate due to lack of cash flow. i’ve already decided i need to drop back to Dunnos next season. i just don’t have the funds or driver to maintain Bad Year (as much as i like them). let’s see where i’m at after this race – we’re crossing the halfway point today.

LOL … all season my driver has been botching the Q1 time. this time he did well and then screwed up the Q2 time. :-/ downgraded a couple of parts (including the engine) to make it through this race without smoking. i don’t even have enough room to boost on my engine. it should finish around 99%. i’m hoping MANY are smoking in the race and with even a lower rated car i might sneak into the teens. pushing back up next race
