    a first place COULD push me into 4th place. i don’t really want that. would prefer to stay in this group for one more season. if current 4th place scores any points, even if i win the race, i would retain and not promote. i’m considering going for podium and see how it all shakes out. i’ll watch the current 4th place and see if it looks like he’s going to go for points. i want full money, have the ability to put some CT risk in.

    had to buy a new engine and am trying this “match character pts to the track characteristics”. i didn’t buy the new engine until after my driver was satisfied with the setup, but my lap was only slower by .177s (net). i’m planning on pushing it to 60 CT and hoping to land enough pts to solidify retention. i have seen a trend with this driver all last season and so far in the three qualifying this season: cruddy Q1, stellar Q2. something for me to think about when i start looking for a new driver. my current one’s stats are good, so i’m not sure where else i could look to improve except maybe motivation.

    bid on five different TDs and came up empty. i hate the early season TD market. reminds me of trying to find a driver in AM. so i waited until the last minute to do testing because i was hoping to get a TD. since that didn’t happen, and my CCP dwindling rapidly, i went ahead and tested anyway. put it all on Acceleration. while my driver is nearly the top in the group (4th), my car is on the bottom half and very little money to start the season. i’m hoping for a finish in the top 12, but i don’t really expect it this race. i am expecting higher overall temperatures this season and went with Yokos to save money. i only have my driver until race 11 and will have to get a new one for race 12. so it’s important i have a very good first part of the season if i’m to survive while training a new driver. if it doesn’t look promising, i’ll find an AM driver to finish the season and plan on relegating. but that’s only if things go completely bad. my preference would be to stay in Pro, get a new driver and train with a plan to push in s83 or 84. time will tell.
