i TOTALLY botched this setup. used a wrong track, no practice laps (which would have let me know i was way off). i’ll be starting at the very back of the group. i DID NOTICE enough before the racetime to change my race setup. but i’ll be hardpressed to gain a lot of spots. where i would have really liked a 12th place or better, i’ll be happy if i can climb to low-20s. ugh. i hate rookie mistakes.

money is tight. i’m still planned to finish in the positive and i need to continue to push my driver in testing and training. i’ll have one more testing session this season (next race), but seriously need to get some decent money and a couple of points. i fear the points may not come until the very end of the season. i much prefer getting retention out of the way early. downgraded a couple of parts. last race (New Delhi) was the first race i intentionally came in much lower and sure enough – a complaint from one of my sponsors. i’ll likely lose them as i try to pull my driver’s OA down a bit. maybe i should drop it more harshly with either training or intentionally sabotaging one race. if i’m going to do that, i need to wait until later in the season. still too many races to just give up. will lower my CT to 0 for this race and stay on dry tyres throughout (including at the start).

surprised to find myself on the pole for this race. maybe a podium finish afterall? i was surprised to find myself there. i did replace parts and i’m hopeful for a solid finish and to move back into the top 4 in group. that should boost my driver’s motivation and help overall the rest of the season.
