mismanaged my part wear and my brakes should fail before the race end. frustrating! i had set up my wear expectations on the wrong track, bought new parts, trained the driver. when i trained the driver it negated my ability to redo my part selections. SO what i thought would be a good race and chasing some points (and money) will end up a smoking race and likely sliding out of points.

trained my driver in Ninja to help with passing. he’s awful at getting stuck behind and this is a very difficult track to overtake anyway. starting on rain tyres and hoping the rain stops just before i need to pit. 35ct in the rain an 25ct when its dry. i’ll boost a couple of times in the rain since my driver is decent on a wet track. using a 60% rain setup. let’s see if i guessed right.

i keep getting close to points, then come up short. thought i might push on this race with parts nearing the end. should make it through with only the engine really close at 96%. i hope it holds. this is another engine killer and i’m hoping many will just roll over and let their engines explode on this race and give me a chance to slip a point or two. i anticipated my Q2 to be about a full second faster than it was and met some driver’s mistake. common on the ovals.

money is still tight, but better than last season with better finishes. i continue to train my driver in fitness. i’ll be racing a two stopper with a shorter final stint, 3 boosts (2 in the last stint) and 35ct risks. a bit of a stretch, but let’s roll the dice and see what happens!

will start on dry tyres and hope the rain stops very quickly. just like last season, i’m concerned for money and getting retention points before i run out. i had hoped this would be the season i get them early and then could relax a bit and collect some funds. but it hasn’t happened yet. the good thing is my finishes have been decent with the worst being 16th. not expecting points here, but finishing better than 15th would be nice.

i’m a bit disappointed with the last race. i knew i’d have some parts nearing 100%, but thought my car would somehow make it to the end without smoking. flirted with 8th place before settling for 11th while the car smoked. sort of a similar position for this race. engine and sidepods will finish 98% and 97% respectively. but also trying to save money and stretch the parts as far as they can. i’d love a couple of points to give me retention and then i could concentrate heavily on saving money.

25ct with only 1 boost during the last 3 laps. two stopper with a longer stint in the middle so a shorter sprint at the end.
