i did a round of testing. did it all in top speed. those parts cost more. then when i went to do my race setup i forgot to change from Barcelona to Slovakiaring for the first test lap. oops! after switching i still had to monkey with the settings because i forgot just how persnickety the Technical Director can make things. crazy how minor of a change made him happy. example: asked for the engine to be lowered. started at 510 and dropped it by 5. now it was too much. increased it by 2 and it was fine. silliness and that can add up to a lot of extra practice laps. i’ll have to keep that in mind.

back in pro and it will be interesting to see how this driver does. i’ve already extended him and his motivation is close to max. i hope that helps in the first few races. new TD, but will wait until after this race to do any testing. money is always tight at this level, but i’d like to have a good season rather than one that is just a grind. hoping for a bit of luck to come while i watch finances, train my driver, and do some testing so i can keep my part levels lower for financial purposes – then bump them up for a push.

car is pretty well suited for this race. had to get a couple of parts to make it through. i’m on the cusp of being able to promote. i’ve waffled on it for some time. just gonna keep this race at 20ct and see where i finish. i’m expecting points, but my driver isn’t great in the rain so i might not do as well. could be a messy race. using 20ct on both dry or wet and also a 70% wet setup.

surprised my car did as well as it did in the last race. i’d like to finish in points this race. getting a bit concerned over the continual “force to the front” with this nagging feeling at some point i’m going to see a “start crash” and i’ll be out a ton of money. but for now, riding that wave and seeing how far it will go. did train my driver with some aggression this time (Ninja training) with the hope of being able to pass people rather than being stuck behind them most of the race.

been very surprised how well my driver has performed this season. i’m not using much CT (20 each race) and still finding points. not complaining, just surprised. hoping for a top 15 on this track. was surprised to have a ‘satisfied’ from my driver after the first practice run. now to see if the part wear expectations are accurate.

unexpected points. motivation is building. should have decent finishes throughout the rest of the season which will help money. driver will likely not be extended beyond next season due to moti growth bouncing his OA too high. looking for a top 14 finish on a wet (and likely) messy race.
