after finishing 8th in the last two races, i would like to think i could finish a top 5 in this race. parts should last and i’ll be boosting twice in the final stint which is a sprint and significantly shorter than the previous two stints of the race. everything was geared towards big time money growth next season. i’ve done lots of training and testing after getting my driver after race four. he started with 0 stamina when i signed him and he’s now setting well to start a hard push AFTER race four of next season (after the extension).

testing is done for the season. i can’t afford any further. i’ll be lower on funds after this season than i wanted, but as inexpensive as testing was, i had to do as much as possible. ended up testing 12 times which is the most i’ve ever done in one season. still CCP to add after the next two races. hoping for a top 17 spot. should have a car that can last the next three races which makes it a bit better chance at landing decent finishes and points. low-ish CT at 20.

another bout of testing. this has really jumpstarted my driver’s stamina. started at 0 for race five. now at 51. i was sorely disappointed when i Q’d to see i’m 16+s behind the leader this early in Q’s. that’s a WHOLE lotta seconds. goal is a top 20 finish. running a one stopper on 20CT and am wondering if i made a wrong choice. maybe the weight of the fuel load is too much and i should have opted for a two stopper on mediums for speed. GOOD NEWS, the set up was perfect (i did do one practice lap to confirm).

did another round of testing. had to lower wings to level 4 to get through both testing and the race. front wing may still go before the end of the race (tool shows 101% by race end). running 20 CT. hoping for a position in the top 22. put in enough fuel for long rain and/or long dry. it’s quite posssible we end up with rain the whole time which would be fine.

i am starting to feel the squeeze on money. i’ve tested 7 of 9 races this season and i’m sticking with my long term goal. will raise finances as the driver improves and the testing helps in both CCP and driver’s stamina. i anticipate i’ll be much more competitive near the end of the season and then throughout next. still running a low 20CT to keep part wear down. same CT for each race to get a better comparison of how the driver is improving overall.

new driver is S-L-O-W. working feverishly to get his endurance up and weight down. still testing and will need ALL of these CCP as i will have to downgrade parts from mostly 6’s to 4’s at some point to save money and make sure i finish above $0 by season’s end. will likely lose a sponsor today at the same time acquiring one. i was hoping not to lose one though and that will hurt financially as the new sponsor isn’t paying quite as much. i may have to alter the testing schedule the rest of the season. goal was to test 14 of 17 races with it being so cheap this season. i don’t mind finish low as long as i don’t go negative. for THIS race i’m anticipating a place around 28th. but i’m hoping for improvements the rest of the season since i need to average 24th or 23rd to still finish where i want to be financially at the season’s end. slightly higher (by 2 spots) if that sponsor goes away.

got a new driver who needs a LOT of training. hoping to have him for 3+ seasons (with a move to Pro possibly during his final contract). qualified with my last driver so i would be higher on the grid to start the race, then tested with my NEW driver so he got the benefits of the testing to help his stamina. will be focused on stamina and weight the remainder of this season (for the driver, though i could use that focus, too). i need to average a top 24 position the rest of the season to finish about where i wanted to be in regards to money at the end of the season.
