i thought i’d do better last race, but missed the podium. i might have done better on a harder compound and fewer stops. and yet here i am doing the same approach – softest tyres and most stops. but the tool does say it’s the fastest. i’m still running on just 30 CT. i’d like to get where i can drop that down as the season progresses. that will only happen with more testing because my driver’s motivation is all the way up. hoping and planning on a podium.

upgraded the engine to a level 6. just looking for some added quality finishes and money before the bottom of the season falls out. did another round of testing to get full use of the old engine before i had to replace it. trained in fitness. driver is gone after race 16 and will probably keep this one right up through that race. needing the sponsors to finish quickly because i have three all in their last races and then nothing after.

the season is winding to a close and i’m hoping to hang on to 5th place within my group. there’s a chance i could drop to 6th and NO chance to accidentally promote. so i’m pushing in spite of having downgraded my wings to level 4 in order to make it through this race. the idea is to build money and dropping $7-8m (for both wings) that cannot be earned back in this race wasn’t worth a new purchase. should start next season around $45m and have my driver back for another 16 races. should do very well next season and push money up to about $75-80m if i’m wise.

replaced a few parts and debated what to do with my engine. opted to push it up to a 6 knowing i can downgrade it to a five and even a four later this season if needed. while i have plenty for retention, i’d like to finish in 5th place this season for the monies. if my calculations are accurate, that would put me at the $50m mark at the end of the season (with all bonuses). then next season i hope to jump to $75-$80m.

for this race, i’m switching tyres 0/0 if the weather changes. too many curves and a long enough track that going around 1 time in either side of a change would be too long. the longer pit will still be faster than the added lap.

there’s nothing like thinking you’re very good on a wet track only to find that you are 6.5s off the leader in group after Q1 & Q2 are completed. i did another round of testing with emphasis on acceleration. handling points will come in after this race. using the testing to get my driver’s stamina up while maintaining CCPs.
